What is Telemedicine?

Telemedicine is part of telehealth that provides diagnosis and treatment of illness or injury. It involves a range of applications and services using smartphones, wireless tools, two-way video, and other forms of telecommunication technology.

You can use telemedicine for remote consultation with your healthcare provider. Also, your physician can forward your medical history and diagnostic information to your telemedicine doctor for a review. Based on this information, your telemedicine doctor can make a diagnosis and create the appropriate treatment plan.

Note: Despite its numerous benefits, telemedicine does not fully replace seeing your primary care doctor for in-person checkups but rather serves as an adjunct, especially during these unique times.
